Mountain Silk: The Rare Treasure of High-Altitude Silkworms Mountain silk is produced by silkworms raised in high-altitude environments, making it an exceptionally rare resource. Due to unpredictable climate factors such as temperature, humidity, and sunlight, mountain silk is becoming increasingly precious. The silkworm cocoons are meticulously selected from high-altitude regions, with only one harvest per year to ensure that every cocoon is fully matured and robust. It also has a higher content of polar amino acids compared to domestically raised silkworm silk, with larger gaps between individual fibers. Wild-reared silk boasts fibers that are twice as strong as regular silk and has 3.5 times the UV absorption capacity of mulberry silk. The peptides within the silk provide antibacterial and anti-mildew effects, which have already been applied in industries such as food and cosmetics. Additionally, alanine, glutamic acid, and lysine in the silk produce a significant amount of lysozyme, which effectively inhibits common bacteria such as E. coli, Candida albicans, and Staphylococcus aureus, creating a clean and healthy microenvironment for sleep.
